Musical Promenades at the Museums - French perfume

Few months after the astonishing interpretation of Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time in the Byzantine and Christian Museum, the Athens State Orchestra returns to this historical place with a concert dedicated to the French musical heritage. This time, the Athens State Orchestra's Woodwind Quintet interprets famous and pioneering compositions: A programme where Bizet’s Carmen comes after Debussy’s “Petite Suite” and where Bozza’s Scherzo, Ibert’s Three Short Pieces and Poulenc’s “Sextet for wind quintet and piano” follow, creating a musical bridge which will transport us in Paris’s charming quartiers by the Seine.

Mahler Cycle VII

For the fourth consecutive year, the Athens State Orchestra will continue to work towards its ambitious and supremely timely goal of performing every Gustav Mahler symphony. In this outing, the great Austrian composer's colossal Seventh Symphony, a long and in every sense adventurous musical journey through the Night, will unfold under the 'wise' baton of the celebrated Slovenian conductor Uroš Lajovic, on its way to its 'sunlit' metaphysical finale.

Musical promenades at the Museums X - Dancing

We, five friends, decided to travel. To take our music with us and to extend it in time. Short term and long term. And to take you with us. Kavafis says that “when you dance, you write on Earth what your soul wants to tell”. On the other side, music talks to the soul and raises spirit and emotion. Hence, we married time to dance and we invite you in this multidimensional journey.

Ending concert for the Brasses’ Atelier of the Athens State Orchestra

In an absolutely celebrating ambience, the Athens State Orchestra ends the -sixth in a row- stage of the Brasses’ Atelier of the Athens State Orchestra with the established yearly ending concert.
During the academic year 2017-2018, the Atelier’s members had the chance to creatively collaborate with the Brass family’s experienced and acknowledged musicians of the Athens State Orchestra, to get educated by them and to enjoy for one more year the pleasure of musical cooperation through teamwork and familiarization with the orchestral repertoire.
It is this mood exactly that they aim to transfer to the audience of their concert, joining their forces in pieces of chamber music for brasses.
Music of Antonio Vivaldi, Camille Saint-Saens, Henry Purcell and John Williams.

Musical promenades at the Museums - Solo music

Musical harmony in its fullness. Transcendental melodies surpassing limitations… Johann Sebastian Bach, composer of astonishing solo instrument pieces, offers us poetry in expression with his sublime suites. Cello suites contain everything -and everyone…
Within one simple melody line, the deeply spiritual content stands in its fullness. An unrepeatable journey in time, with light luggage, will take place in Acropolis Museum next Sunday.
