2022 01 10 Sonatas for cello and piano

This concert marks another milestone in the long and fruitful collaboration between Angelos Liakakis and Titos Kouvelis. The three sonatas they perform approach the combination of cello and piano in different ways and with different aesthetic goals, the common denominator being the authenticity of an irresistible inspiration.

2021 12 27 Trio Opus I

The dynamic Opus I Trio, with our concertmaster on violin, performs a programme which contrasts two aspects of Romanticism: while David's trio represents a graceful and light musicality, Arensky's composition is packed with exuberantly torrid gestures. Dimitri Sykias’ 7/3 for Christmas brings the concert to a suitably festive close!

2021 12 13 Piano trio

Lovers of chamber music hold the Mendelssohn's Trio especially dear for its ability to take the breath away with its masterful writing and musicality. Alongside it, Shostakovich’s youthful trio and Ireland's Phantasie are both works that are well worth discovering.

Three distinguished woodwind principals from the Athens State Orchestra join forces beyond the confines of symphonic music, placing their delicate, lyrical, penetrating sound at the service of a programme distinguished by its lightness of mood, classical (and neoclassical) clarity, and musicality.

2022 05 27 Everything in the superlative - Stravinsky Year

The Firebird was the first of many great successes for Igor Stravinsky, and the ballet made him famous in Parisian musical circles. Over a century after its composition, his music has lost none of its irresistible force. And the same holds true both for Mozart's riveting Symphony and Liszt's explosive Second Piano Concerto, which will be performed by the virtuosic Nikos Kyriosoglou under the baton of the distinguished German conductor Marcus Bosch.

2022 02 11 With Passion

Famous scores fizzing with passion and unbridled emotion, but underlain by an unwavering attention to detail, are recreated under the direction of the celebrated maestro Georgios Balatsinos, with ever-brilliant contributions from the dazzlingly virtuosic Vassilis Varvaressos on piano. The programme also includes the première performance of a work of especial significance for Greek music: the Symphonic Fantasy from Kalomiris’ opera The Master Builder, based on the tragedy of the same name by Nikos Kazantzakis.
