a) MOZART: Concerto KV 191, the 1st movement (with Cadenza) and the 2nd movement
b) GRAHAM WATERHOUSE: Sonata for Contrabassoon, op.37. Exceptionally this piece, and given its rarity, Musicians will be able to obtain it in the office of the Athens State Orchestra, after the submission of their application for the competition.

PERCUSSION,

a) One piece for tympani, chosen by the candidate, approximately 1’30’’ long or one piece for percussion, chosen by the candidate, of the same duration.

Candidates will have at their disposal two timpani sets, the Ludwig Ringer with International system and the Ludwig Professional with German system, both with REMO Renaissance leather type. They will have the possibility to choose the set on which they will be examined.
Candidates will also be given time to get familiar with the instruments during one of the days prior to the examination. Candidates will be informed shortly about the relative timetable.

The list of orchestral excerpts which will be included in the examination programme will be announced twenty (20) days prior to the date of the examination of each instrument.
In case a candidate applies for two (2) positions, the examination for the second one concerns only the parts of the examination programme that differ.
