An Alpine Symphony
The Athens State Orchestra hosts the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra of Constance, in which Vassilis Christopoulos serves as chief conductor since 2005 . In the first part of the concert the German orchestra will play the majestic Symphony No.41 "Jupiter", which represents the peak of Mozart's symphonic creation . In the second part the two orchestras, joined together in a large ensemble, will present Richard Strauss "Alpine Symphony", honoring the 150th anniversary since the birth of the great German composer .

The Gold Rush
Herodion turns into an amazing open air cinema in favor of the public which will enjoy the projection of a masterpiece, Charlie Chaplin's silent movie "The Gold Rush" (1925), while Athens State Orchestra under the musical direction of Miltos Logiadis will play live the music that Chaplin himself had composed especially for his film.

The Athens State Orchestra, in collaboration with the Cultural Foundation EUROPAMUSICALE, announces with great pleasure a festive concert on the occasion of the Greek Presidency of the European Union. Distinguished singers of international reputation and the excellent Bamberg Symphony Choir combine forces with the Athens State Orchestra under the musical direction of Chief Conductor Vassilis Christopoulos, in order to present Beethoven’s magnificent Ninth Symphony, a symphonic masterpiece that represents the highest ideals of Humanity and Fraternity.
