The Athens State Orchestra, always aiming to play an active role in the musical life of rural Greece, this year chose to transmit the Christmas message in its own musical way to Corinth by bringing the local audience to contact with timeless masterpieces of the erudite European creation. Young, talented conductor, Maria Bazou reimagines beloved melodies from the famous George Bizet’s opera, Carmen, while the Athens State Orchestra’s Concert Master, Apollon Grammatikopoulos and its leading flutist, Nikos Nikopoulos, take on solo roles in impressive concerts highlighting the full beauty of their instruments’ sound.
