An unusual yet organic dialogue between two composers who, though separated by a century and an ocean, share a common belief: the power of melody as the ultimate means of expression. The transition from Fauré to Ewazen is also a transition from “whispered” emotion to extroverted storytelling. The common thread is the use of the horn not as a “military” instrument, but as a third voice that sings, mourns, and celebrates alongside the violin and the piano.
