In the new era – HUB of the Athens State Orchestra

Through the Project “Digital Transformation of the Athens State Orchestra: Digital Library and Organizational System”, co-financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, the Athens State Orchestra published on its new platform hub.koa.gr 130 archival recordings and tape recordings from 1990 to the present. Given the rich and long history of the Athens State Orchestra, it is not surprising that its archive is a treasure trove of immense historical and cultural value, extensive musicological material, photographs, recordings, first performances, works commissioned by the Orchestra and press clippings. It was, therefore, imperative to organize and digitize the material using the most modern means, with the aim of its easy access and utilization by musicians, students and music lovers. The Recovery and Resilience Plan and the Ministry of Culture supported the new needs arising from the Orchestra’s commitment to promote its expanded field of action. The platform has been available to the public since the end of 2025, enhancing the visibility of the important work of the Athens State Orchestra, as well as Greek musical creation.

The digital repository was implemented with funding from the European Union’s Recovery Plan.
