The Athens State Orchestra's appearance at the celebrated Georges Enescu International Festival in Bucharest alongside some of the most recognizable symphonic ensembles in the world truly was a milestone for the Orchestra and an achievement which fills us with pride, but also a sense of responsibility. The experienced conductor and former artistic director of our orchestra, Stefanos Tsialis, conducts César Franck's majestic romantic symphony and five Greek Dances by Greece's greatest composer, Nikos Skalkottas. The up-and-coming pianist of Italian descent, Saskia Giorgini, will perform an early by Enescu which is rarely heard live.
